We can solve this type of question using BODMAS rule , there is also PEMDAS and BIDMAS any many others rule are available and all have similar concept.
As you see in the picture bodmas rule how work firt we have to slove brackets, after order and after that division & multiplication and then go to addition & subtraction.
There is noticed one thing in bodmas rule.
Division and multiplication
When we come to division and Multiplication. We have to solve left to right.
If first is division and after that come multiplication then we have first solve division and then solve multiplication.
If first come multiplication and after that division then first we have to do multiplication and then do division.
Addition and subtraction
Same thing follow as division and multiplication.
We have go to solve left to right.
If addition come first and after that subtraction then we have do first addition and then to solve subtraction.
If subtraction come first and after that come addition then first we have to solve addition and then go to subtraction.
Solution
70÷2×72+55
Lets go with BODMAS rule
First we have to do division & multiplication and aftger that addition and subtraction.
In division and multiplication first is division so we go with division.
But there are two possibility to do division because in question is not ask clear which way we have to do. So both answer are true.
Possibility 1 :-
70÷(2×72+55)
70÷(144+55)
70 ÷ (199)
Answer 1 :- 0.3517
Possibility 2 :-
(70÷2) × 72 +55
(35)×72+55
2520+55
Answer 2 :- 2575
Now you think which answer is true but eventually both answer 1 and answer 2 are ture because question is not clearly ask.
Let's search in google calculator.
If i search this question as it is in google then google is answer as possibility two. See the image below.
See in the image when search as it question in google it is automatically make brackets as we solve possibility 2.
Conclusion :-
As per my knowledge and thinking and also some research the answer of this question is depends on Where we put brackets.
If we go with possibility 1 then the answer is = 0.3517
If we go with possibility 2 then answer is = 2575
As per my opinion both answer 0.3517 and 2575 both are true. Because question is not clearly ask so we take any answer then it is comes true.
